"good mail"
I stumbled across this picture a couple of days ago. It is a package from my sister, Kathryn. It includes a CD of really good songs, yummy chocolate, a new book, a lavender vanilla candle, and it is all wrapped with really cute polka dot tissue paper and bright yellow stuffing! I wanted to post it this morning, but I thought how silly to write about "good mail" on a day that I didn't receive any. THEN, I went to my mail box and what should I find but an envelope with actual handwriting and it was in purple ink! Jill had sent me a handmade card with pictures from my really fabulous birthday dinner!
"Good mail" is definitely on my top ten list of things that make me super giddy happy! How can you not feel elated that someone thought of you enough to find an envelope AND a stamp AND walk out to the mailbox! No bulk drops, flyers that say resident, or better yet- envelopes that say they are for you OR whoever may be living at your address! The extreme joy that comes from knowing you are a person not an account holder... the absolute delight of seeing a dear ones writing across the page... it is definitely a good thing! (Thank you Kathryn and Jill for my "good mail"!!)

You're so welcome. I'm glad you consider it good mail. I love good mail too and am giddy when I see a friend's handwriting or a cute envelop. Isn't it liberating to write about it and show a picture? Lovin the bloggin life.
i am so envious of Jill's good mail idea. I truly and sincerely wish I had thought of it. It seems like the perfect gift for you. Although if I had thought of it, would I really have been able to follow through?... probably not. sigh.
