Sunday Thoughts
{photo of the San Diego Temple from our trip last week.}
I can not recall a single Sunday when my effort to be there has not been rewarded by at least a simple impression or reassurance. I have no doubt that the Lord teaches us through the Spirit when we attend our meetings.
It is usually something small. This week it was the closing hymn in our Sacrament Meeting-
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgment seat.
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer him; be jubilant my feet!
Our God is marching on.
He is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgment seat.
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer him; be jubilant my feet!
Our God is marching on.
The Battle Hymn of the Republic, verse 2, Hymn #60
I have sung this song many times, but today I felt called out by this line. The time has come for me to pick up my pace, not just as a runner, but as a follower of Jesus Christ. When inspiration and assignments come, I must act quickly and be joyful about the work I am being asked to do.
The movies are filled with Heroes who rally their people and charge into battle. This song suggests a similar scene with Christ as the Hero and I have heard the call. I hope I will be swift to answer.
On days I am really listening, I get more than one impression-
In Sunday School, we watched a video from the Mormon Channel. I've never been to the site, but I thought this was powerful. Elder Holland speaks to my soul and I knew that he was not just speaking to the Young Men, but to the mothers of Young Men. I need to help Soren better understand the Priesthood power he holds.

Awesome thoughts and beautiful pictures. I love the Mormon Channel. Often the kids will find videos on there to watch on Sundays since we have a no "TV" rule. We also use them for family nights occasionally.
