2009 Year In Review- Restaurant Moment
December 2 Restaurant moment: Share the best restaurant experience you had this year. Who was there? What made it amazing? What taste stands out in your mind?
I promise, all my posts won't be about my trip to Texas but this restaurant moment is one for the books!
My dad needed some quiet one night and sent us out to dinner so he could get some rest. My mom and I met Scott, Jon and Kyra at Saltgrass Steak House. Steak is a MUST when you are in Texas. The food was delicious. The company delightful. But what made this such a memorable night was Kyra.

Kyra is three. When you are three you need to move, you need to have people's attention, and you need to use the bathroom often. Val was home sick, so we all took turns helping meet Kyra's needs. I took her for several walks but of course, we couldn't acutally walk. Kyra had just learned from The Little Einstein's how to do an arabesque, so we took two steps, then did an arabesque to the right, an arabesque to the left and an energetic turn before taking two more steps and repeating the dance... all across the restaurant!
If it had been my child, I would have gone crazy! But it was Kyra. And she was adorable! It was the first and only time I have ever danced my way through a crowded restaurant.

What a fun dinner, Kyra sounds darling. I'm much more patient and able to enjoy the antics of little kids now that I'm not smothered in my own.
You should try dancing through more restaurants! :)
Funny how it can be easier to be patient with other people's kids... I'm all too familiar with the inability to just walk. Eva dances her way through a lot of places -- tonight it was the Champ de Mars.
