Marathon Runner
Yesterday I could say that I had run a marathon.
Today I can say that I am a marathon runner!

The difference in semantics may be slight, but the difference in how I feel after running another marathon is HUGE! I am so amazed at what I have been able to make my body do. There have been some costs- weight gain, fatigue, frozen noses and sunburns, muscle pain (I can hardly navigate my stairs right now!), but it has all been worth it because:
I learned that I'm not really OUT of breath.
I learned that I can go a little farther.
I learned that I can go a little faster.
I enjoyed gorgeous views.
I enjoyed feeling stronger.
I enjoyed improving.
I loved having Kelly as my running buddy and pace setter.
I loved the time we had to solve problems, share insights and dream about the future.
I loved the perspective I developed as I ran toward my goal of finishing 26.2 miles.
I am a marathon runner!
On Monday, that may become I was a marathon runner, but we'll see how I feel then.

Good for you, Princess. Good for both you and Kelly. You will always be a marathon runner, even if you choose not to run again; you just put it as "Marathon Runner, Ret." :-)
And speaking of retired, I am now officially retired as well. I was tired last night and I'm tired again tonight, which certainly makes me retired. Ohhh, bad joke. Must have gotten it from Grandpa Paul....
Again, good for you. Great effort and great job. All my love to the whole Nielsen clan....
Congratulations on completing another marathon!!!! It's amazing to even attempt one, so to go back for another is just crazy impressive.
Congratulations to you both!!
I am seriously impressed that you are a marathon runner. It takes so much training and effort. And no one can ever take that away from you!
You're amazing...I'm so proud of you and look up to you so much. Way to go, Marathon Runner!
Way to go! I don't think I will ever be able to say that.
Way to go! What an amazing accomplishment. You give me so many reasons to look up to you.
YAY! How was it? How'd it go? Did Kelly's foot act up? Did you beat your last time? Did you decide if you'll do another or if you'll stick to halves? I WANT DETAILS.
CONGRATS!!! You pretty much rock ;)
Jen, I really am impressed with not only your ability but your desire to achieve this goal...twice! And once you do it - it's bragging rights for life.
I'm so proud of you! What an amazing feat...what amazing feet (hee, hee) I'd be bragging about that all day long, week long...well, forever! You are AMAZING!
Well, I am so excited that I can say that I am friends with a Marathon Runner! Seriously how cool is that? You and Kelly insprire me!
