A.L.L. (accelerated learning lab)
Kate tested for the program back in February and it was a long wait for her letter, which came last week. She was ALL smiles (no pun intended), so excited and so proud of herself for doing well on the test. You see, 5-6 schools all feed into one host school and only 26 students are allowed in that single class. It is a big deal for us that she made it in.
It is also a big deal that she will have to go to another school and the district does NOT provide transportation. So, we were also excited to attend the orientation meeting last night and find out more information before making our decision if we would accept or not.
The details of the meeting are not important. But they helped us to feel even more excited about this opportunity for Kate and we are definitely accepting!
Somehow, we will work out the car pool (my other kids will still be at the old school). And somehow, we will survive the increased homework load (an hour or two each day, having only had 20 minutes of reading for most of her elementary career). We will work it all out, because finally, Kate's little brain will be pushed and stretched and worked- and like her daddy, nothing is more fun!

It is no wonder Kate and Cass have become fast friends. SO much in common. I am so happy for you and proud of KATE! YAY!!!!!!
Impressive, indeed...
Congratulations to Kate! This is exciting news. It's sad that she hasn't been challenged at all for all these years in school, I hope she makes the switch easily.
