I love Easter Sunday!

We gave up the Easter Bunny. We don't give Easter baskets. Once in a while we dye eggs (for creative fun). So what do I love about Easter? My kids (and maybe my mother) would say, "the candy!" And, although hunting for candy filled eggs is still part of our Easter weekend, it is not why I love Easter.

I love Easter because I know that Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World, lives! And for one glorious spring day, the world feels joyful. That He lives is true every day. And I am grateful for the reminders I receive all year long. But on Easter- the bulbs have come up in such glorious colors, little children are dressed in true Sunday best, family meets together, and voices (including mine) are raised in song- Death is conquered, man is free. Christ has won the victory.

On this wonderful Easter day, I have no doubt- Christ the Lord is ris'n today, ALLELUIA!
