DANG, I love this kid!

We had a party of sorts for Ethan tonight. It is nice that at 3, they think that looking at a potential house is just part of the party; that Uncle Nate leaving early (his headlights don't work) is no big deal; and that cupcakes are the coolest birthday food ever!

This is my favorite Ethan picture of the night.

You can see that he is one happy kid! These are some of my favorite things about Ethan right now:

  • He moves like a free spirit- light footed, care free... SO cute!
  • He has a great imagination.
  • Kisses still make things all better.
  • He may be a boy, but Princesses and Pink are totally cool.
  • He has multiple names for himself including: Shaggy, Corbin Bleu (from "hi-MOO-sical"), Polly (from Underdog) and Lightning McQueen.
  • He has coordinating names for everyone else. For example: When he is Shaggy- Emily is Daphne, Soren is Freddy, Megan is Scooby, Kate is Velma, Mom is Chupacabra and Dad is Mystery Machine!
  • His big, brown eyes! (sigh.)
  • He greets us every morning with "It's a SUNNY day!"
  • He tries to get out of going to bed by saying "No, it is still a SUNNY day!"
  • If you tell him you can't do something he wants, he tells you "Yes, you can." (And it works!)
  • He loves to play the "bluter" (computer).
  • He has a bigger sweet tooth than his mother!
  • He has the best laugh- rich and deep and real.

The list could go on- but I'll end by saying:
Ethan, you are such a delight! I feel so blessed to have you in our family. You make me smile EVERY day and I am grateful for your sweet spirit. You are a joyful soul and a terrific little guy. HAPPY birthday!

Great picture. He is so cute and amusing, I don't know how you keep up with him (I'm still reeling from last week's post when he swiped your camera).

I think it's hysterical that you're the Chupacabra!

It's hard to believe he's three already, it seems like just a few months ago, or a year at most, that we were visiting you in the hospital... I fear I will never get used to the passage of time.

I love that he is into princesses and dressing up and that he has nicknames for himself and everyone else!
