Holiday Blues

I feel crabby, irritable, annoyed, frustrated, tired...
It is supposed to be a holiday- a fun day! The kids are off of school but-
Kelly is not off of work.
Michelle is getting on a plane for Paris.
I was too tired to run this morning and now it's too hot.
My kids won't do their jobs.
My kids complain that today is SO boring.
My kids are fighting.
My lunch got cold.
I don't know what to make for a potluck in the canyon tonight.
I don't want to figure out what to make for a potluck in the canyon tonight.
Blah. Blah. Blah...

Hope you are enjoying your holiday more than me.

Randy is at work today too! Luckily Whitney slept over at my parents' house so she's having fun learning to sew today. Landon and I went to say goodbye to the Michelle and family and then stayed to do the final vacuuming of the house. I feel melancholy now and am considering fleeing to the cozy to read and doze. It seems like an unproductive thing to do, but then again who said I had to be productive today?

sorry you are having a tough day friend! That is the pits about Kelly working! I think that you should make that yummy jello fruit salad. YUM! Or maybe I should make that....hmmmmm.

Chin Up Super Jenn! I think most holidays are grumpy and full of blues. Mine wasn't as "bad" as yours, but it was spent almost entirely in the car driving home from Colorado, so I kind of know how you feel.

I drove all day.

BOO.

Don't get me wrong, we had just had a GREAT weekend at Martin's Cove, we ate yummy junk food and listened to Eragon and nothing bad happened...but BLAH. Now I'm doing 75 loads of dirt laundry and have to deal with missed homework, packing lunches, the bedtime ritual and I'm too tired to do it.

Sorry your day wasn't a great one. I sympathize!

I'm sorry about your day, because we had a good one. We spent most of it with Jon's family going to the Aquarium and having BBQ together. The men watched football while the women shopped and the kids played, and then we played cards. I found a local getaway for Dad and I next week. Not all holidays are good ones, but this one was.
Sounds like you had a good day-before-the-holiday. Hope the weekend wasn't a total loss.
LOVE YOU!!

I'm glad that you have crabby days too! I think that daily life as a Mom is not always picture worthy and I think the kids will totally appreciate reading this when they are the Mom.

BTW- When can you work lunch in?

I really hope the canyon turned out better than you hoped (even if you were in a sour mood). Micah bought a motorcycle so I can't complain about our day. I felt bad though because Micah and I took Dave and Kristy away from any other possible holiday plans.

It's 11:56 pm and you haven't posted a Tuesday post yet? Does that mean you are starting your 10 days over? No. I haven't started my 11 day streak yet.

Sorry, sort of...maybe I'm weird (my kids would quickly insert here, take out the "maybe") but, sometimes I like days like these, just so I appreciate how happy I usually am. I usually make a point of letting my family know that they have it soooo good because usually I'm nice and fun, so they should thank me on my off days for being a 90% great mom! :D

My Monday holidays are ALWAYS like this! Marc always goes to work, and then we don't do much, but feel like everyone else is having fun and we should be, too...
