Catch Up: Spring Break- HA!
More like winter break:
So, what do you do when spring break brings a foot of new snow?

Watch a LOT of movies!

On Tuesday night, I took the kids down to Hollywood Video and let each of them pick a movie. Soren was not thrilled with some of the girls'choices but made the most of it when offered a Spy Kids marathon instead of just the first film. The Meek girls (our neighbors) came to watch many of the movies with us which made it much more enjoyable for my kids.
We didn't really just watch movies all week, but we were limited a bit by the snow. I'm also blaming the snow for our lack of pictures from the week- it had me out of sorts.
Spring Break "High"lights:
Monday- Plain City to see the Rasmussens; return for the neighbor egg hunt; the kids picked anywhere in the house they wanted to sleep (except MY bed!!).
Tuesday- Emily and I met Angela at Zupa's in Provo for good food and a nice visit before she left for Texas on Wednesday. Harvey Unga (a BYU football player) sat two tables away from us- we called to tell Soren who, of course, was jealous. Picked out movies. Watched Back to the Future-classic!

Wednesday- I ran- in the SNOW! While in the shower- Soren informed me his ceiling was leaking. Kelly came home to deal with it and went out to run- in the SNOW! The day was off to a rough start, but got better. It was "Girls Day" (sorry Soren.) We invited the Meek girls over to make shadow boxes. My girls join the Meeks to go swimming at "the bubble." The girls came back to our house for "Another Cinderalla Story" with Selena Gomez (cute girl, terrible movie). Emily and Taelynn slept over at our house, Kate and Megan went to Sienna's house.
Thursday- Soren needed Sunday clothes and some time without girls, so we made an outing of it in the morning by hitting the craft store, the shoe store, two department stores and Red Robin for lunch. (Not really a guy's kind of trip, is it!!) Soren's blueberry shake filled him up before he got his hamburger! And the raspberry limeade was SO good! Megan's turn to get out- she and Sienna chose to go to Dear Lizzie's, a boutique and bistro nearby, for giant sugar cookies and wishful looking (it is REALLY expensive). After we got home, we started the Spy Kids marathon, but we only made it through the first two movies before the Meek's needed to go home. My kids all got to choose where they wanted to sleep again- Ethan and Emily chose the bonus room, Soren slept on the family room couch and the girls wanted to be in their own beds.
I didn't think he'd make it through the night, but this is Ethan
sleeping comfortably on the Love-Sac the next morning.
Friday- Kate desperately needed jeans but wanted to go to her friends house, so we made a quick trip to Kohl's and picked up Zupa's for lunch. After dropping her off, we invited the Meek girls back for Spy Kids 3.
So, we didn't make it to the dinosaur museum and we definitely didn't brave the tulip festival with our cold weather. We didn't turn on the sprinklers or play bocci... Some people do fine in the snow and a few even enjoy it. We don't, so I think everyone was a little disappointed with spring break. Having everyone home and stuck inside all day made for a LOT of noise and I was ready for my "mom's only" sleepover on Friday night! It was a nice reward for having been home with kids all week and that will be my next post.

Sounds like you had a busy, if not warm, week. I go off-track on May 1st. I'll get with Maria and find a day that next week to come see you. Can't wait!
It sounds like a fun week to me! You may need to remind your kids that not everyone has an awesome bonus/movie room like that. My kids would be in heaven if they got to have a film fest in such a place.
It sounds like you made the most of the crummy weather and got to eat lots of good food. We went to the Dinosaur museum on Thursday and it was pack so it was probably better that you didn't go.
I think you did a LOT on your Spring Break. That is nothing to be sad about. It may not have been what you thought you were going to do, but you did things!
Our spring break was definitely not ideal, either, as I was sick the whole week! We went to the dinosaur museum on Monday and then it went downhill from there. The snow only made things worse.
I think it was a great idea to let the kids choose where they wanted to sleep! Definitely outside of the norm.
How can you NOT love the snow? Oh well..
Sounds like a fun movie week and I'm curious to hear about your Mom's Only sleepover...hmmmm
wow! i bet that is what a sleepover is for to make muffins in the morning right when tae got home she said we made muffins they were good and emily is so cool! well that was a fun week hope we can maybe do it sometime!bye
