you've got mail

Kelly and I love the movie You've Got Mail. We watched it for Valentine's Day. Friday night, we decided to try The Shop Around the Corner (which You've Got Mail is loosely based on) starring Jimmy Stuart. I have to be honest, I was SO tired when we watched it that I slept through a chunk in the middle. But, overall the movie was quite cute and scenes were taken almost exactly for the modern version! I just love the witty conversation and find that blogging has been my way of exchanging (or at least of hearing) good thoughts. Here is my contribution for today:

My heart was trembling as I walked into the post office- and there you were! Lying in box 237! I took you out of your envelope and read you- read you right there! Oh, my dear friend! (The Shop Around the Corner, 1940)

What will NY152 say today I wonder. I turn on my computer. I wait impatiently as it connects. I go online, and my breath catches in my chest until I hear three little words: You've got mail. I hear nothing. Not even a sound on the streets of New York, just the beating of my own heart. I have mail. From you. (You've Got Mail, 1998)

It makes me SO happy to hear from each of you! Have a happy day!

I love that movie too, it's irresistible. I love that you put the quotes on your blog. One of my favorites from the movie is when Tom Hanks is writing her about fall and back to school and says that he'd like to bring her a bouquet of sharpened pencils (swoon). So sweet.

I enjoy that movie, too, but I can't imagine Marc watching it with me. He'd think it was too sappy, for sure. Chick flicks are just not happening for him. So I will have to watch it alone, or with my girlfriends! I feel the same way about blogging. What did I ever do before Jill started this whole blog bandwagon??

Ahhh! I Love this movie too. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan should just make romatic comedies together. They're always so sweet. I used to watch this movie all the time right after jeremy and I got married. He worked until midnight, and since we only had one car, I had to go pick him up from work. This movie kept me company many late nights.

Jenn, where are you? I haven't seen a post from you since Sunday and I miss you. Are you deathly ill and in need of assistance?
