genuine friends

I'll be honest- I was really envious when I read Michelle's post the other day that said she had sent out four packages. I have received many cards from Michelle which are always stunning, so imagine what a package must be like! Well, to my great surprise (and absolute joy!!), one of those packages showed up in my mailbox! I carried the envelope around for a little while before opening it because the excitement of having received good mail on such a cold, gray, gloomy, depressing day was almost too much! And I wanted to hold on to that sweet, happy anticipation! Of course, I wasn't disappointed when I finally opened it! The envelope contained BIG pink flowers, beautiful ribbon and a bright, happy note that made me feel SO good!

I am still amazed and overwhelmed by the wonderful friends I have! What makes them so wonderful (and why I feel SO blessed) is that they are truly generous- the ribbon was given to Michelle by her mother but she was moved to share the goodness with me! My friends are also spontaneous and enjoy simple pleasures- Jill sent me some pages from a Martha Stewart Living Magazine just because she thought I would enjoy looking at them! My friends are extremely thoughtful- the kind of thougtful where they know you better than you know yourself! Michelle's sweet note told me that she wasn't sending the ribbon and flowers because she had too much, she was sending it because she knew I would love them! And last week when I had a really bad and busy week, Jill sent me just a short but sweet and timely note of sympathy and encouragement. I have the best friends because they actively share my interests- I can't wait to read the book Jill sent me to celebrate spring! And to top it all off, my friends are beyond appreciative! I wanted to do something nice so I took Jill a box of Valentine donuts but just look at the thank you card I got in return! I think it is better than the donuts!! And that is their way- to give back more than you ever gave to them!

And yet- it makes me want to keep trying to return the love, joy, strength, understanding, and friendship that they so willingly give to me! Thank you Jill and Michelle for being the most amazing and true friends any girl could hope for! I thank the Lord daily for you! I am blessed!

What a delight to see all those fun things in one place. You deserve them for sure, and it's so fun to send you stuff because we know how much you love it and need the boost it gives you. You do so much for us that's it's just another way to try to give something back to you. Enjoy!

What a very pleasing photo. I read this post yesterday but couldn't respond until today because I felt overwhelmed. All I did was send you a couple of small things, and this is how you repay me! Sheesh. I feel like I can never do enough for you because whenever I do the tiniest thing you give me back so much more. (such as your thank you cards that are so painfully cute I feel I should probably give you another gift...) Shall we just agree to have a mutual admiration society?

Your post and your thoughts truely move me to tears. Our friends are what ground us, love us, humor us, laugh with us and at us, they bolster our sagging emotions, they're always there with a willing hand, a shoulder to cry on and sweet words of encouragement. What a blessing and thank you so much for being so willing to share your thoughts and feelings.
