creative hang-up #1

As I cleaned my craft room (which is always a mess, even though I don't use it!), I realized that my first hang up is this: I don't want to use up my cool supplies! How dumb is that? What did I buy them for? To use, of course! But, I always think there will be a better photo, a better layout, a better something to use it on. I tell myself I am saving it for that, but then I end up creating nothing! So, as soon as I finish the birthday present I'm working on, I am going to scrapbook and I am just going to use stuff. Even if I can't ever replace it! After all, I did buy it all to USE!!

Oh, I am so with you there! I am such a hoarder! I don't know where the impulse comes from. The funny thing is that by the time I use something up (if I use something up) I've had enough of it and I don't even want to replace it! So really saving it does nothing for me but create clutter. It doesn't really even make me happy. A good thing about ny new craft room is that I've managed to purge a lot, review what I have, and decide, like you, to just break down and use it!
I just love seeing pictures of your scrap room, it's such a happy place.
My problem is not one of not wanting to use my cool stuff, more that I either don't know what to do with it or I can't find it in the piles I have everywhere! So frustrating.
I would like to resolve to be better at using the things I have (instead of always wanting more), and maybe challenging myself to create something using some specific items rather than feeling overwhelmed by so many choices.
Oh my gosh, I am exactly the same way! I tend to hoard things, I don't want to use them because I like them too much. I realize that this doesn't really make any sense. I'm trying to overcome this and just use the things I love, because I know the time will come when I don't love them as much and I will have wasted all that love.
Hey, if that's creative hang-up #1, are there more to come? Is this part of a series?
I feel the exact same way. I too hold out waiting for the perfect page to use them out. Sadly that never comes around and I never end up using the embellishment. I did this with my favorite patterned paper 5 years or so ago. I wouldn't use it because I loved it so much and now it is so out, I mean compared to what they are making these days it is really not cute. I wish I would have just used it then because I don't care to use it now. Thanks for sharing. I am going to do better about using up what I have and know even if I can't find it again something better will always come along.
Forgot to write: I love the photo of your space. I have never seen it so post more.
I hoard also and then it goes out of style before I have even done anything with it. I way over buy things on sale instead of a few good things. I am several years behind in the creative world (as well as others).
I think that whatever you make is simply amazing -- so creative, so adorable, so thoughtful, over and beyond what people expect. Therefore, if you have cuter stuff than what you've used, I can't wait to see more of your new creations.
I just think it is fantastic. I think what happens to most of us, is that we don't have it ready to use! and sometimes in the looking for stuff and thinking about it, time passes and nothing gets done!
The picture looks amazing! are there any more comming?
ps...sometimes I love the way it looks in the package! silly...
I think you inherited this quality from your mother.
I am nearing the age of wearing diamonds to the grocery store so they get used and enjoyed. There's no guarantee that there'll be a tomorrow.
Boy, does this post ring true with me. I find that I get creatively stumped and therefore just ignore it but yet I keep buying supplies. Let me know when you get it figured out. I LOVE your scrapbook room.
