Valid Reasons
I missed posting yesterday- dang it! But I have valid reasons.
First- I am watching my niece, Avery, for a couple of days while her parents go camping. She is 11 months old and SO cute! Although I have had 5 children, it has been a while since I've dealt with bottles and baby food, nap schedules, crawling up stairs... and I'm sure I looked comical trying to navigate my way with a baby carrier in the post office! I forgot how much time a baby takes! I did finally figure out that if I put kitchen chairs in front of the stairs, I don't have to check on her every 30 seconds but still- she is a time zapper! I love it! At least short term. I will certainly appreciate more the freedom I have with my older kids when she goes home.
{the hand off. This is Kathryn's first time leaving Avery for more than a couple of hours. I'm guessing this trip will be harder on the mom than the baby or the babysitter!}
Second- Life is so stinkin' busy! I took Meg to dance at 4pm. Came home to help with homework and chores and dinner before sending Emily off to dance at 5pm. And 6pm nearly killed us- Megan had to be picked up, Soren had to be dropped off at football, Emily was done with dance but I made her ride her bike because my HOA Board meeting over the tree issue was also at 6pm... serenity now!
Third- I went to fight my tree battle which has turned into war. But that is another post for another time.
My post count is back to one for now,
but I WILL make it to ten in a row.

You're right. Those are valid EXCUSES!!! Don't kid yourself, that's all those are. Excuses, excuses, excuses.
Ok, so I may still be pouting from a crappy 09-09-09 and I'm taking it out on your blog posts. Sorry.
The tree battle has turned into a war?? Oh dear.
In my experience, having someone else's kids (especially babies!) always makes you appreciate the relative calm of just your own afterwards. Although your crazy schedule sounds like it has very little calm...
Hey Friend! You look so gorgeous in that baby hand off pic. How fun to have your little neice there. I'm considering have one more baby and sometimes when I remember that phase I"m like--WHAT!?! CAN I DO IT?!?! Anyway, such a fun time for you.
I'm dying to hear about the tree thing. I didn't go because I knew I would blow up and say some really mean things to some of my ward members. Yikes.
Avery sounds like a doll...a busy, but fun, doll. If you ever need to appreciate your big kids, you can borrow Luke!
Well, I'm just glad you're back, so even if you have to take a one day break now and then, just keep it up. You're inspiring me, you really are!
How fun for you to have Avery for a few days. You'll love it I'm sure.
Your day yesterday sounds ridiculous, in the most Jana sense of the word! Is Wednesday your busiest day or are they all kind of like that?
I can't wait to hear more about the tree war. Are you going to have to go private? ;) (Just kidding--please don't go private!)
Babies really are the ultimate time suckers! They're awfully cute, but I really enjoy being free. I hope things are going well with her. It must be crazy for Kathryn to go from not leaving her for more than a couple hours to leaving her for several days.
I'm sorry the tree battle has turned into a war. I can't imagine anyone would want to fight someone as thorough as you. Your reasons are so well thought out and research how could they possibly have a valid rebuttal?
It is true...babies are a HUGE time zapper....but oh how I love them! Can't wait to read how you post the tree battle.
Don't blink or you'll miss Jenn posting a whole heap! (Cool Runnings) I applaud your dedication and can't wait to hear about the war.
It was fun watching Avery. Life is crazy. Your tree battle is still going. You failed to blog on Thursday, September 10, 2009. But I LOVE You!
