imagination
I have been really busy the last few days and I am still trying to finish several projects and plan several meetings. (Anyone have any great ideas for teacher training?) Soren is home today (and tomorrow) because of Kindergarten testing and I was worried that he would not be able to entertain himself all day. But he and Emily played quietly for an hour or two- until their stomachs couldn't hold out any longer and they came to ask for lunch. When I asked them what they were doing, they got all excited and ran to get something. This is one of the structures they brought me. "How do you like my science lab mom?" Your what? Did my 6 year old just say he built a science lab? Turns out, the term was learned on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which we rent from Hollywood Video once a month or so). But still! The picture doesn't do it justice. It has plants and animal specimans, an overhead light fixture, an arched doorway and a robot that is not finished! I am constantly amazed at my kids' imagination! I think my kids are so inventive and smart! I love your science lab Soren! I hope they just get bigger and better, like you!

Cool contraption, and they made it peacefully together? That's an event isn't it? I thought they rarely got along. Soren is welcome to come over Thursday if he'd like to. Our home schoolin life allows for daytime play quite well. (Emily can come too, but Whitney has preschool at 12:30.)
What an amazing structure. How cute and clever are your kids? I love hearing all about the amazing things they do!
What is there to say but "WOW! Makes a grandma proud. I'll stop walking by the Legos cuz I thought he didn't like them.
I did teacher training for years. What do you need? Do you have people in your ward called to do that?
Who says that Tv doesn't foster creativity?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, huh? That's why my husband is so brilliant. Congratulations to Soren and Emily for peaceful playtime. And to Jennifer as well for all the many things she accomplishes in a day.
