I'm an AUNT!!!
Okay- I was already an aunt. But I am an aunt again to Jonathan and Valerie's new baby girl and that is really exciting!! And it is crazy to think that Jon's a daddy!!!
Her name is Kyra.
She was born Sunday, April 9th, one month early.
She weighs 6 lbs. 8 oz.
She is 18 inches long.
She has curly dark hair under that cap!
She had trouble breathing when she first arrived but with some help, she is breathing and beautiful!
She also had some liquid in her lungs, so she was swept away for observation for several hours so Jon and Val were SO happy when they finally got to hold their new little miracle!
It is KILLING me that I'm not in Texas to hold their sweet baby girl! I LOVE newborns! But Val's mom is there and will be lots of help. My mom is here in Utah instead of in Texas! I don't know how everyone feels about that- but what do you do? And what a blessing that Jon was in town and not in San Fransisco where he spends most his time for work!! He called in to say he wouldn't be coming this week, so he gets to be home with sweet baby and new mom!
Congratulations Jonathan and Valerie! We are so happy for you! And welcome to the family Kyra- we can't wait to meet you!!!

Very exciting news. I'm so glad the birth went well and that the baby is healthy. Congratulations to all involved.
What a sweetheart! Was the early arrival a surprise? Is that cap hospital-issue? If so, I've never seen one that cute!
Congratulations! What an exciting time for your family. How's your Mom doning, now that she's "stuck" in Utah?
Wow, one month early! If only I could be so lucky ans still deliver a healthy baby. I know it's small consolation, but you're welcome to hold my newborn in June as much as you want. He won't be your niece (and no that's not a typo) but he'll still be newborn.
