Fall Break
My kids have been out of school since last Thursday. Kelly is in charge of his office this week while his boss is scuba diving in Florida, so we didn't get to take off for the long weekend. We haven't done much- in fact, we have been quite boring. We've sat around, watched tv, yelled- a lot... we did get Halloween costumes taken care of (what a relief!) and we had family over for Sunday dinner. But, overall, it has been a waste of a long weekend.
Uncle David to the rescue!!

David is staying with a family in Riverton who installed a pool and hot tub this summer. When he found out we had school off, he invited us over to swim! I never would have guessed that we would spend FALL break swimming in an outside pool- but the weather, though cool, was beautiful and the pool is heated!! So, swim we did!!
{My kids gave it their best High School Musical 2 pool jump!}
David is SO fabulous with my kids! He showed them his tricks, taught them to do their own tricks, cheered for them, laughed with them... we LOVE spending time with David! He really did save our Fall Break from being a total waste! Thank you David! We had a great time!
note: This post is not meant to offend or ignore Angela, who came to hang out with us on Thursday. We love being with Angela too! The difference is that I abused Angela's time in an attempt to keep sane and did not let her play much with my kids. She and I chatted and ran an errand or two while the kids watched tv and played the computer... her visit was for my sake, not my kids'. And that was my doing not hers. So, thank you Angela! You probably had better ways to spend your day off, but I appreciate that you spent it with me and that you cared about my sanity!

{Ethan is a riot! He has NO fear! He loved jumping off the diving board-
he cut in line, jumped without anyone to catch him,
even jumped in backwards like his Uncle David!
I really hope this kid lives to see his next birthday!}

I'm just glad I had another excuse to see you! So, swimming looks like a blast. I wish I could've come. Stupid work. I want to be a stay at home mom now!
I think I want to live with that family in Riverton!
The first thing I noticed in the first video was the way Ethan jumped in with no fear! He didn't even look like he was looking for someone to catch him. Can he swim already? I've never had one with no fear. I think it would be fun. And scary. Glad your Fall break was rescued from the doldrums!
That pool looks fabulous, it's so great that you guys got to go swimming in the fall.
I can't believe (and yet I can) that Ethan was jumping off the side of the pool with the other kids. Wow!
I noticed that Emily is wearing floaties, but Ethan isn't, that's funny.
