Where Have I Been?
My lack of blog posts have been predominantly due to my location. I have spent much of the last two weeks in...
the bathroom.
Yes, we are potty training!

This is my fifth go-round with potty training, you'd think I'd be a pro! But it is not any easier the fifth time than it was the first, second, third or fourth. If anything, I have LESS patience for it this time! I HATE going to the bathroom every 20 minutes and sitting in there for 10 minutes while Ethan plays around on the toilet, resulting in me letting him leave so that he can have an accident two minutes later!
After two weeks, Ethan is actually doing really good at getting to the toilet when he needs to. And he is mostly making it in the toilet. Without getting too graphic- we are still having some issues with "number 2" and I haven't been willing to push his limits, so if we are going to be away from a bathroom for very long, I still put a diaper on him. But we have made progress.
The weird side effect of potty training has been that my very independent three year old has developed his own ideas about style and proceeds to change underwear and outfits 10 times a day!
That is NOT an exaggeration! And it is not because he has accidents- it is simply because he wants to wear something different and he can change his clothes all by himself! It is making me crazy!!
And that is why I have not posted for a while.
I have several posts I hope to write. Playing catch-up seems to be how I always do things. Until then, I'm probably in the bathroom.

Think of it this way: Once Ethan has learned you are done... FOREVER. You may have had to endure 5, but you will be entirely finished for the rest of your life once Ethan learns. That is, until I have kids and need help...
Oh, Jenn.... I am so dreading doing that again. I know it's coming, but I am happy to wait until I can't wait any more. It's just not fun or easy, any way you look at it. But I like Angela's perspective -- you are almost finished!
no look forward to that...still having issues with the other one...holding on to it...for sooo long
Potty training sucks, but you really are a pro and will have final success in no time.
oh jenn! the light is at the end of the tunnel! :)
I like the perspective of being done forever- will have to hold onto that one when Kaylee is ready. It is good to know that 5 is just as bad or worse than all the others because I was thinking the second time around it would be much easier!
