Couch to 5K

Ready. Set. Go.

Training for the Nielsen's has officially started.
This morning was our first day of preparing to run a 5K together!

It's crazy, I know. I am NOT a runner! But Kelly and I wanted to do something together with our children and we wanted to be more active, so, at family council on Sunday, this is what we decided to do.

Kate, Megan, Soren and Kelly ran the 6am shift today. Emily and I ran the 7am shift. (Ethan is probably capable of running the distance but not staying focused- so this year, he gets to sleep.)

{Emily and I right after our first "run"}

I don't know if we will all make it. Emily is already giving up, although I think she will change her mind on Wednesday morning (our next running day). I hope she can stick with it. I hope I can stick with it!

It will be a cool thing if we can pull this off!

Way to go! We've had a tough time getting up this week with having to set the clocks forward. Keep up the good work.

What a cool family activity. I know Landon would love to do something like this, but the rest of us wouldn't be too keen on it. Hmmm. I guess we'll stick to family Connect Four tournaments.

That is awesome! Do you know which 5K you are going to do? My kids love to run. Maybe we can start training also and sign up for the same 5K. Keep me updated!

Good for you guys! I remember seeing Kelly on the track last summer when I was "attempting" to be a runner for the first time.

I've finally decided after a year and a half of trying that I actually LIKE running, which is a miracle!

I'll see you at the Thanksgiving Point 5K, I should be there too! (I'm the super slow runner at the back, but it's okay.)
