I love being "GOOD busy"
Today we were busy, but it was that "good busy" where you aren't being told what to do or where to go- you are happy to do what you're doing or at least happy to be getting it done!
We started the day with a violin recital for Megan. Her teacher says Megan is doing really well- we wish she would practice more! But we are definitely proud of her for all she has learned so far and glad that she wants to stick with it a little longer! It is one of my regrets- that I don't play an instrument. (Yes, I realize that is me on the piano! But I don't actually know how to play.)
After the recital, Kelly and Soren got started on their Pinewood Derby car while I made a grocery list/menu and lunch. We tried to decide what things on our " to do" lists were most important and since the sun was finally out, I spent my time in the garage. I cleaned out both cars, swept the inch of winter dirt off the garage floor, reorganized the things falling off the storage shelf... but winter isn't over so I worked until the wind picked up and started blowing dirt back in the garage! (That is so MY life- everything I've done gets UNdone!!)
Then I came inside to READ! I love when I have time to sit and read without guilt and it is even better when I am loving the book! (I finished it and posted it on my reading list.)
While I cleaned the garage (and read), Kelly did our grocery and Costco run, took my van to Jiffy Lube and the car wash, and picked up needed supplies to continue on the Pinewood Derby car.
I am headed to bed with food in my pantry, gas in my car, things generally in order, having made good progress on my goals this week. I even made the brownies for dessert tomorrow and read the Relief Society lesson (which I won't hear since I'm substituting in primary)!! I'm tired but, I love days like this!

Is wonderful all the things you can do as a family. Yay for Megan! (And I don't know what you mean by "not knowing" how to play an instrument... You did great at the piano!)
Yes, good busy days are wonderful, aren't they? I love the feeling of going to bed tired from a day well spent--lots accomplished and ready for the days ahead. Yay for you!
I love days like this! I really love having my car cleaned and full of gas too, it's so satisfying.
I haven't read a Relief Society lesson in years!
I love days when I get a lot done but, don't feel stressed about it. You seem to have a very well balanced, good crazy day. :) Isn't it so funny that we thought we were so busy and couldn't get anything done with just one child? Look at us now!
It sounds like you guys divided and conquered in a most efficient way! And hooray for reading with no guilt! And, I'm pretty sure you can't accompany your daughter without knowing how to play the piano...
p.s. I am totally impressed that you've already read 13 books this year! And giggled over the Marie Osmond interaction.
