Finally- one year later
In May of 2007, Kelly and I found a house we LOVED! The owners were in a hurry to sell because the husband was already working across country, but our house was not ready to put on the market.
We talked for a long time and prayed to know if it was finally time to sell our home of 7 years- the answer was YES. So, we cleaned, rented a storage unit, cleaned some more, painted, tiled, replaced the light bulbs and cleaned even MORE- until we finally put the 'For Sale' sign in the yard on July 15th. And then,
we waited.
And waited and waited. We had felt so good about selling our home and the market was strong when we had made our decision but the market changed quickly and we wondered if we had made the right decision- again, the answer was YES.
After a LOT of prayers, tears, potential homes, potential buyers and Clorox wipes, we finally sold our home and found one that we felt was the right place for our family. After 8 months of looking at more than 50 houses, this was the first to feel like OUR home.
The journey over the past year has led us here, to this home, this neighborhood and this ward. Along the way I have been reassured that the Lord hears and answers my prayers; my patience has increased as I have waited for His wise and benevolent timing; and my faith has been strengthened that when we are obedient, all things work out for our good.
I am grateful for our new home! Our journey will continue as we settle in to this new and beautiful place and enjoy new experiences and opportunities. I am SO happy to be here, can you tell?
