My First Finish Line
It was so exciting to cross my FIRST finish line
on Saturday at the Salt Lake City 5k!!!
on Saturday at the Salt Lake City 5k!!!
I wasn't going to run this one. Our family goal was to run in May when we had finished our "Couch to 5K" training. But, Kelly wanted to run this race. He invited the kids who said yes and I knew Soren was not on pace with Kelly and the girls, so I offered to be his buddy. He and I crossed the finish line together and it felt great!
I almost didn't run because of my wicked cold, but I am so happy I decided to participate. It boosted my confidence and made me more excited about training and our next run (which will be Running With Angels at Thanksgiving Point). It also made me want to improve my time- I ran at Soren's pace this time so, hopefully I can get him to pick it up by May 17th!
Megan (34:49)
Kate (35:08)
Soren (39:19)
Jennifer (39:19)
Kelly (35:07)
Hooray for us!!
I have to say, running with my kids has been a whole lot of fun! They motivate me and push me and I love having something we do together! It is also fun to run into friends-
Congratulation to all the other people we know who ran on Saturday!
5K: Steph, Troy, Kara, Jocelyn
Half Marathon: Matt, Brian L., Brian W., Robyn and Jared, Hannah
Were you there?

note: My SPT for today was supposed to be all of our groceries packed in our canvas totebags. But I fell asleep after the race and didn't wake-up to get the photo before Kelly had everything put away! (THANK YOU Kelly!!!) So, I consciously saved this post for today as it was the reason for not having my "Go Green" SPT done! Happy Earth Day!!

Way to go you guys! You are so awesome! I saw you guys coming home from practicing running, you made me tired just looking at you guys! way to go!
You guys are AMAZING! What a great example of doing things together as a family and of teaching your children the value of starting and finishing something (even if it's hard) and of the importance of exercise. My hat's off to you! You guys look so great with your race shirts on -- what a great memory!
I love to see you and your family running together! What a fun thing. I still remember running a few races with my siblings when I was younger. It didn't matter how uncordinated I was. I could still run!
Congratulations on your first finish line! Apparently our whole family is running the Eagle Mountain 5k in June so I'm officially afraid! I guess we can always walk it if necessary.

I finally caught up on your blog. I went all the way back to January and there are still a few intermixed blogs I never had the chance to see. Know that I am caught up now. Know that I love you. Know that I am looking forward to FRIDAY!

Your family is amazing, You are such an example to all of us, and not only you are fit and excercise and take care of your bodies, you also take care of the spiritual side (GREAT talks on Sunday, good job guys!)
