A Spring Scrooge
We didn't have big plans, even though this was the first time ever that we have had a whole week off of school! But, we did have some plans! If the kids finished their chores each morning, we were going to do something fun each afternoon like the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival, the Dinosaur Museum, swimming at the Legacy Center, a movie at the theater...
instead-
we spent the week doing nothing because some of us, including me, were SICK!!
Ethan had it the worst. He developed a fever the Friday before spring break that didn't go away until Sunday morning- 9 days later!! He also had a terrible cold which he shared with me and Soren. The three of us went through 4 boxes of Kleenex!
I tried for a day to continue with our plans, but I haven't found a medication that helps my cold symptoms, so I gave in to the aches and fatigue and spent most the week on the couch, holding Ethan who was even more miserable than I was! The kids were left to entertain themselves, which they don't do very well!
Kelly saved the day on Wednesday by taking the kids swimming. And we were so stir crazy that we took our colds to Arctic Circle on Friday afternoon for ice-cream. That is it. That is the extent of our Spring Break fun.
Add to that wind and snow, friends on vacation and my whole family speaking in church on Sunday and all I really have to say to Spring Break is-
Bah Humbug!

Oh Jenn -- how awful to be sick for so long. Poor Ethan -- to have a fever for 9 days, that's sad. Sorry to hear that you've been so sick and that Spring Break was so depressing. I'm glad you made it through it all.
Jenn I know all about being sick on Spring Break. It is so not fair! And then to have to do talk on top of that. Who would have asked you to ..... oh.... sorry :)
I hope that you are feeling better!
I'm sorry, what an awful spring break!
Sorry about the sickness. I was there with you although luckily only Justin & Erin got it but it was not a sickness you need Kleenex for. We made it through and had a decent Spring Break anyway.
We did go to the Tulip Festival on Friday and the "Bloometer" was only at 20%. It actually may be a good thing that you didn't go. Let me know when you do go. We got a Season Pass and can get you in for half price!
Oh NO! Not the whole family! I'm sorry- what a bummer for your spring break.
Sorry I wasn't around to hear your talks, I'm sure they were wonderful.
The good thing is that now you have 6 months of "for sure" health because you were all sick together (That's how it works, right?)
GREAT talks on Sunday, I'm really impressed with your family!
Oh, man! What a tremendous bummer. The only thing worse than being sick yourself is having sick kids too! Hope you guys are all on the mend now.
