SPT revisited- Fill 'Er Up!

So, I took this picture back in May when Lelly issued the SPT challenge about gas prices. I never got it posted but I thought of it today when Kelly called me and told me to race to Macey's for gas before they hiked up their prices- the station across the street had jumped to $4.27 and Macey's was still at $4.07 PLUS I had a credit for 10 cents off per gallon!

I was feeling great until I looked back at this picture- look how miserable I was just 2 months ago when gas was ONLY $3.29?!@#%! What I wouldn't give to be back at $3.29!! Now I am just sobbing at the thought of running around town and I am nearly suicidal at the thought of driving to California next month... WAH-HA-HA!!

$72 for gas is a terrible way to start a day!
(and I am not really suicidal- no worries on that one, okay?!)

I thought of taking this EXACT same picture when I was at Chevron yesterday. SEVENTY dollars for 16 gallons. I finally had to stop the pump and drive away without filling up the last 1/4 of my tank, I just couldn't handle seeing a three digit number on my gas receipt.

Crazy times I tell you.

It is depressing, isn't it? Last night on the news the report was the gas prices should start dropping for a few weeks. This morning, the gas station by my house jumped $0.11. Apparently the news got it WRONG!

We pay 4.40 for gas here in Germany and that is half price compared to what the Germans pay! Ouch! Needless to say there aren't any Eurpeans driving around big trucks or SUVs---Heather

We were excited to see prices like $3.80 on our trip. What a bargain. Here in MN the taxes on the gas is much lower but then again they have major bridges collapse because they don't have enough money to pay for road repairs. I guess I'm willing to pay a little more for safer roads.

Did you hear that the oil companies are seeing the biggest profits than any other corporation ever. So weird.

$79.00 the last time I filled up. I was trying to stop at $75.00 but the nozel handle was stuck :(
