Happy Birthday Soren!!

Today is Soren's 8th birthday! He woke up ALL smiles, which isn't abnormal, but the smiles this morning were HUGE!!

Soren and I are at odds a LOT. He is not a very good listener and could care less about doing a job the way I want it done. But I try really hard to be patient with him because he is a really terrific guy!

• Soren is friends with EVERYONE!! Girls. Boys. Little Kids. Adults. Teachers. Strangers. He just wants to be friends- whoever you are!
• Soren has a fantastic smile. And he is happy almost all the time.
• Soren's best feature is the dent in his chin. At least, I think so!
  
• Soren recently lost a tooth from getting tackled at the park by some friends.
• Soren loves sports- ANY sport! He wants to try them all and he loves to watch them all on tv.
• Soren's favorite sport is BYU football- he loves to go to the games with his Dad and Grandparents.
• Soren is my favorite after-dinner helper. He is the only one, besides Kelly, who isn't afraid to stick his hands in the disposal to check for silverware! He may not load the dishwasher the right way, but he does it without screaming and that's big in my book!
• Soren is a good reader. He tackled Eragon last month and although he didn't understand a lot of it, he was really proud of himself for finishing. I was proud of him too!
• Soren's favorite author right now is Beverly Cleary. We wanted him to read books that would help his fluency and comprehension so Kelly suggested Ralph S. Mouse. Now he has read 6 books by her and is loving them.
• Soren's favorite food is Honey Chicken with "brown" rice and sweetened carrots. I think he could eat it every day.
• Soren is an all or nothin' kind of guy. He used to wear ONLY khaki pants, NO jeans. Then, in the summer he wore ONLY shorts, even on cooler days. Right now, he is in a jeans only phase, no khakis or athletic pants. Sunday is torture for him!
• Soren wishes he could play x-box every day. I don't let him- in fact, I am pretty stingy about the x-box. But he loves to play.

There really is so much to love about Soren! He thinks I hate him because I get mad that he doesn't listen, but I don't. I LOVE Soren and am so glad that he is part of our family! He does so much to keep our family active and smiling. He helps more than I probably give him credit for. He is a great guy and I hope he has a great birthday!
