Ready. Set. Go.
Racing season began for us two weeks ago with the Rex Lee Run in Provo. Kelly and I ran our first 10K while three of my children ran the 5K. I had forgotten how fun it is to do this together. We huddled close in the cold- laughing and trying to keep warm and we watched as the sun came over "Y" mountain perfectly timed to the phrase "from the dawn's early light" in our National Anthem. The kids finished first so Kate was at the finish line cheering me on and trying to get pictures... Except for running by myself (Kelly is faster than me and the kids were in the other race this time), it was a great morning!
Today, Kelly and I start some speed drills to try and improve our time for another half marathon in June. I also hope to finish a 5K in under 30 minutes this year (I came so close last year!) We have several races planned through the summer, running with our kids as often as we can. I can't say I love running yet, but I love how I feel after I run; I love race days; and I love the memories I have of being with my family.

Such a cool thing to do as a family--especially since you don't love running! ;) I thought I would train for a 10k this year, but, alas, I have yet to work up the necessary desire to actually start training. Any tips?
You are so amazing! I can't believe you've kept it up this long. Well done.
Congratulations on another successful race! I think it's pretty cool that you all do this together.
Makes me homesick for running, I love that your whole family gets involved! I'm going to do the one on April 11, will I see you there?
I'm so glad you're back!!
I don't know that I will ever have the desire to run but I'm planning to walk Running with Angels. Justin says he wants to start to train to run with me so I guess we better get going since there is just over a month to train. I'm hoping the weather warms up soon so we can just head over to the track at the blue park.
Yay for you!! Running is so good. That is a true fact.
I am so glad you are blogging again. It's good to keep up on the comings and goings of you.
Your so amazing! Keep up the great running. What a great way to stay in shape.
Racing season?? It's a season now? You guys amaze me. What a cool thing to do as a family!
